1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: email address, password (stored in hashed form), display name, date of birth, gender, and other registration details.
- Profile information: photos, bio, interests, height, job, education, relationship preferences, languages, and optional social contact handles you choose to add.
- Location information: city, country, and precise coordinates when you grant location permission — used for Discover, Nearby, and location-based matching.
- Communications: messages, likes, matches, blocks, reports, and other interactions with other users.
- Photo verification: verification selfies and related metadata when you complete live photo verification. Verification photos are not shown on your public profile. On supported iPhones, live verification may use the front-facing TrueDepth camera and ARKit face tracking — see Section 1.4.
- Support requests: information you send when contacting support, including your message content and contact details.
- Purchases: we receive transaction receipts from Apple App Store or Google Play for subscriptions and in-app purchases. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, language, IP address, push notification token, crash logs, and information about how you use the Services.
- Advertising identifiers: device advertising identifiers may be used by our ad partners according to your consent choices and applicable law.
- Analytics events: feature usage, session activity, and performance data collected through Firebase Analytics and similar tools.
1.3 Information from others
- Reports submitted by other users about your account or content.
- Information from sign-in providers when you authenticate with Apple or Google (see Section 3).
1.4 Photo & Face Verification (TrueDepth / ARKit Face Tracking)
On iPhone models with a front-facing TrueDepth camera, the App may use ARKit face tracking during the optional live photo verification flow (Profile → Verify photos). This feature is only activated when you choose to verify and grant camera and face-tracking permission.
What face-related data is collected?
- On your device (real time, during the session only): ARKit analyzes your face to confirm liveness. This includes whether a face is tracked, approximate facial depth, head orientation (yaw), and facial-expression signals used for liveness checks (such as eye-blink and jaw-open measurements). Detailed 3D face mesh data is processed on-device for this session and is not saved as a separate face map file on your device.
- Sent to our servers when you submit verification: your verification selfie image, plus a liveness proof summary derived from the session (for example: whether ARKit tracked your face, a depth-range measurement, head-turn completion status, timing/sample counts, and min/max blink or jaw values used to validate the requested pose). We do not upload a full ARKit face mesh or biometric face template for unrelated identification.
Why do we collect it?
- To confirm you are a real person and that your verification selfie matches your profile photos;
- To reduce fake accounts, bots, impersonation, and underage use;
- To support automated and human moderation of verification requests.
We do not use TrueDepth or ARKit face data for advertising, marketing, user profiling, or data mining, and we do not sell face data.
Is it shared with third parties?
We do not share face data with third parties for their own marketing or advertising. Verification selfies and related verification records may be processed by our service providers (such as cloud hosting, storage, and moderation vendors) solely to operate verification and safety features on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
Where is it stored and how long do we keep it?
- Real-time ARKit face-tracking data used during the live session remains on your device and is not retained after the session ends except as summarized in the liveness proof you submit.
- Verification selfies and verification-related records are stored securely with your account for as long as needed for safety, fraud prevention, and moderation, and are deleted or anonymized when you delete your account, subject to the retention limits described in Section 8.
Your choices: Live TrueDepth verification is optional on supported devices. If your device does not support TrueDepth, you may still verify using the standard front-camera flow. You can decline camera or face-tracking permission in iOS Settings; without those permissions, live TrueDepth verification will not be available. For more about the verification process, see our Photo Verification page.
2. How We Collect Information
We collect information when you create an account, complete your profile, use app features, grant device permissions, contact support, make a purchase, or interact with other users.
We also use cookies and similar technologies on our website, and mobile SDKs in the App for analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and advertising.
3. Sign-In Providers (Apple & Google)
You may sign in or create an account using:
- Sign in with Apple
- Google Sign-In (native Google Sign-In SDK)
- Email and password
When you use Apple or Google to sign in, we receive an authentication token from that provider. Depending on your choices and the provider’s settings, we may also receive:
- your email address (which may be a private relay address from Apple),
- your name or display name, and
- a unique provider user identifier used to link your account.
We use this information only to authenticate you, create or link your Local Dating account, and provide the Services. We do not receive your Apple or Google account password.
Google Sign-In for authentication uses a separate OAuth client from Firebase services in our App. Your use of Apple and Google sign-in is also subject to their privacy policies:
4. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
- create, maintain, and secure your account;
- provide matching, Discover, Nearby, messaging, and other core features;
- verify profiles, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, and keep users safe;
- send service-related notifications, including push notifications if you enable them;
- process subscriptions and restore purchases;
- analyze and improve the App, fix bugs, and measure performance;
- show ads to non-Premium users and measure ad effectiveness;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We rely on the following legal bases where applicable: performance of our contract with you, legitimate interests (such as safety, analytics, and product improvement), and your consent (for example, location, tracking, or marketing where required).
5. How We Share Information
5.1 With other users
Information you put on your profile — such as photos, name, age, bio, and interests — is visible to other users according to the features you use. Messages are shared with the users you communicate with.
5.2 With service providers
We use trusted vendors to help us operate the Services, including providers for hosting, storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, advertising, moderation, customer support, and payment processing. These providers may process personal data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
5.3 For legal and safety reasons
We may disclose information if we believe it is necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect the rights and safety of users or the public, or enforce our agreements.
5.4 Business transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Third-Party Services
Our App integrates third-party services that may collect information according to their own policies. These include:
- Google Firebase — Analytics, Crashlytics, and Cloud Messaging (Firebase Privacy)
- Google AdMob — advertising (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Sign-In SDK — authentication only (Google Privacy Policy)
- Apple Sign in with Apple — authentication (Apple Privacy Policy)
- Apple App Store / Google Play — in-app purchases and subscriptions
Where required by law (for example in the EEA), we show a consent form before personalized ads are shown. Non-Premium users may see ads. Premium subscribers can use the App without ads.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Account settings: update profile information in the App.
- Email notifications: manage notification preferences in Settings.
- Device permissions: control location, camera, photos, microphone, notifications, and tracking in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), including the right to object to certain processing or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize your profile and associated content within a reasonable period, subject to:
- a short safety retention window to prevent abuse and fraud;
- legal retention requirements;
- backup, cache, and CDN delays (which may take up to 30 days for some media); and
- limited records kept to document consent, support interactions, or legal compliance.
9. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your device secure.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Services are intended only for people 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will terminate the account and delete associated information.
11. International Transfers
We operate globally and may process your information in countries other than where you live, including countries that may have different data protection laws. When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App, by email, or by posting an updated policy on our website before the changes take effect.
